THE KENYAN RUNNING EXPERIENCE
In addition to our week long camp experiences, we also are developing one day clinics designed to help runners and coaches dig into a single topic. Some of these clinics are designed to be classroom experiences where highly qualified and experienced coaches, runners and sports physicians present a number of specialized topics. Other clinics are hands on participatory experiences where we take runners out for intense training or instruction in the field.
This running seminar/running clinic is dedicated to giving runners of all level and ages a Kenyan running experience that help them understand the approach which has made Kenyans the dominant distance runners in international competitions. Use this Kenyan training experience to develop practical and specific methods for you to use in your day-to-day, week-to-week training to push yourself beyond what you think you are capable of. You will be amazed at what YOU CAN DO!
Why are Kenyans so good? Do they have some special running secrets?
Since the 1960s, the nation of Kenya has dominated the distance events in track and the marathon. These statistics are even more pronounced when one also considers their annual domination of the highest level of international competition in the IAAF World Cross Country Meet.
Some people believe that Kenyan runners are naturally FAST due to their genetics or environment. Yes, that can play a role, but in reality it is because Kenyans approach their training with PURE intention. The Kenyan method of training is often better, harder and more crystallized than the rest of the world. Did you know that Kenyans are not the ONLY fast runners; any runner from ANYWHERE can be as good as Kenyans! YOU CAN BE AS FAST AS A KENYAN. (Level 1)- Runners who not run (under 16:30-men and 18:50 for women)
(Level 2)-Runners who run (under 16:30-men and 18:50 for women)
